Spring Yard Maintenance
Spring is here! Now is the perfect time to tackle those yards. Residents must ensure their lawns are well groomed and maintained in compliance with the HOA Landscaping Design Guidelines. Please take a moment to evaluate your lawn and make plans to address any issues not in compliance. HOA Guidelines state: Grass must be cut and edged regularly; mulched landscaped beds must be kept free of weeds and grass; shrubs and trees must be pruned regularly; dead plants must be removed and replaced.
Beginning April 1, 2023, residents will receive courtesy notices for the following non-compliant issues:
- Bare spots on your lawn.
- Landscape beds without living plant materials/ landscaping.
- Planter beds without mulch. Mulch may be natural pine straw, chopped or shredded cypress, hardwood pine bark, cedar much, or small nuggets.
- Weeds on lawn and in landscape beds.
If the issues are not addressed within two weeks of receiving the first courtesy notice, a second written notice will be sent in mid-April. Homes not in compliance beginning May 1, 2023, will receive daily fines of $10 until the non-compliant issue(s) is resolved.
Thank you for keeping Castlewood such a great place to live. Yard of the Month will be awarded in May, June, October, and December of 2023. The winning family will receive a gift card donated by Calloway’s Nursery in Flower Mound!
